ANIMATION & VFX
Animation can “modernize” content & increase production quality, adding visual interest for retention & engagement. Motion is a narrative tool helping prioritize info when time or space is limited. Related skills are object tracking, rotoscoping, beauty work, visualizers, lyric videos.
COLOR THEORY
Color Theory isn’t just about aesthetics. It helps elicit the appropriate mood or emotion. Color correction & grading are also important when working with skin tones and varying daytimes. Working knowledge of: RGB, CMYK, Pantones, 10bit & HDR color.
VIDEO EDITING
Beyond software, editing requires an understanding of pacing, narrative and intent. Every editor has it’s own style. Premiere is my go to: multi-cam editing, codecs, LOG footage, 4k pipelines & compression formats.
AUDIO MIXING
A formal animation degree taught me foley design, waveform editing & learning industry standards like Pro Tools. Other knowledge includes: MIDI, mixers, voice recording, mixing & mastering.
TYPOGRAPHY
Typography is fundamental to design. It distinguishes amateur from professional designers. Leverage type to precisely convey your intent: web & editorial design, logos, titles, booklets & fashion.
VECTOR aRT
Vector Art is necessary for clean graphics, especially when considering large format printing & small file sizes. Important for working with logos, fonts and die lines.
ILLUSTRATION
A traditional Illustration background means an intuitive understanding of perspective and composition, with the ability to sketch out designs quickly.
BRANDING
Branding is more than fonts & logos. It encompasses messaging, beliefs, values & purpose: It requires strategy, otherwise, it will not stand the test of time.

i7-10700k Build
I cut up an old, steel case as the size was perfect for transport (also, the cost of electronics started to rise during Covid). I wanted to build a pretty strong rig for After Effects & Premiere, and having an overclockable i7 processor with a fast clock speed was key!
